I travelled to Christchurch to take some days off. The motel was very nice for the purposes I needed it. The room I rented had a kitchen and cooking appliances and a small outside area on the back; it was spacious and had a nice shower. It also has a laundry service, which is quite cheap. The location was perfect, very close to the city center but also to all the roads to get into the highways easily. The communication with the motel staff was good and friendly.

This is an authentic late 60s -early 70s motel here replete with tan plastic bathroom fittings. (Original, by the look) and matching curtains. It's the real deal, just like the 70s but with wifi and a flatscreen. I felt like I was in a movie ('all the president's men's' or 'no country for old men'?) If you are into this, you will love it here. In addition, staff are super helpful, the rooms were spotless. A bunch of restaurants nearby.

The Aalton Motel was the perfect accommodation for a short stay in Christchurch. It is a very beautiful 25 minute walk through the park and botanical Gardens to the centre of Christchurch. We found everything we needed in the motel and had a very comfortable night sleep. Our host was exceptionally helpful and provided us with the ideal breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble and I would like to thank them very much for making our stay so welcoming and comfortable.

Friendly staff/owners. Flexible as arrived early. Mentioned local shopping mall and directions - I didn't know my way around city. Quiet, warm CLEAN. Parking outside. Safe as was staying alone. This is not 5 star hotel but it is 5 star hosting. It is also excellent value so very close to main arterial route. Breakfast was yummy and tea and coffee faciliites perfect for quick cuppa. I left behind clothing and they rang me only 1.5 hours after I left - so just as I was boarding, prompt and honest to deal with. Thank you!

Excellent hosts who were very accommodating. Very roomy superior studio, warm and quiet. Comfortable bed and good shower pressure. Very handy to many food options and walkable to shops and hospital. Offered good carparking which a lot in the area don't. Being a solo female Traveller I felt very safe. Great value for money, would definitely stay again. All sky TV channels and good wifi. Thank you.

Location is great, staff were responsive. We comfortable. Kitchen was handy and reasonably stocked with appliances etc.

Aalton motel is in an excellent location to access the whole city, perfect for us. The 2 bedroom unit is spacious and had plenty of room for our family to spread out. These units have a separate toilet and great cooking facilities. The beds were very comfortable. The staff were great and nothing was a problem. We will definitely stay again.
